On HeartGold, I'm very slowly progressing. Team:

I'm not too far in SS, just captured the Sudowoodo after Goldenrod.

Most of my team could really use an evolution, Zubat should evolve twice within two levels though hopefully. Most of this team will likely end up being replaced by more interesting Pokemon. :wormwink:

Actually, if I can get a Ground or Grass type, my team will be able to resist 17 types. :P

Yeah. Here's a little advice from your good friend.

1. Have only one of a type. So no two electric types.
2. Try to form a team that can beat all 17 types, or at least most of them.
3. I suggest:
A Fire type
A Electric Type
A Water Type
A Flying type
A Ground type
And this space right here can be any type not listed above.
4. Also, remember that pokemon can have different type moves. You can swap out a ground type for something else by teaching one of your pokemon earthquake, like typhlosion.
5. Grass types aren't necessary. You can have one if you want but you can mostly swap for other pokemon.
6. This goes for dark and ghost types too.
7. Poison types as well.

Hehe, you have no idea. Brace yourself... I make my teams based on if I like the Pokemon or not. :lol: Usually cuteness. I don't even consider what types or abilities they have, not to mention that I really don't care if the Pokemon is overused by everyone on the planet. ^_^

I'm similar. My team is optimized for the task at hand. I'll probably always have a weak Pokemon for training, my starter is almost always in the party, a Pokemon who can use Fly, a Surfer, and whatever the heck else I feel like using. Of course, I'm also optimized for important battles.

Oh! Did I mention that I got a Shiny Tentacool over the course of SS? First Pokemon encountered on the way to Cianwood.

Also, EVs, IVs, I never feel that they matter too much. Just pick the super-effective move and unleash the PAIN!

I do it by if I like them or not aswell. BUT I make sure they are strong and can hold their own in battle. That being said here is my HG team.

I have all 16 badges. All basic lvl pokethon medals, and I'm currently training for Red :P

This :D. I've always put Tangela in my team as soon it becomes available since the original Pokemon games, even though it's never been the greatest grass type in the world. Golem is usually my HM mule.
