So I'm wondering if anyone else has problems with this game -- specifically, not being able to grab the pink thingies even when you're close to them? Sometimes it picks them up when I click, sometimes it doesn't.. is the game just being a bit lame & slow, or is there a special trick to it that I'm missing?

I have had that problem in the past. I'm not sure exactly why it happens, but I suspect it has to do with getting blasted by the volcanoes at the bottom. Try to avoid that general area above the vents when you see they're about to explode.

And the key to that game is speed. If you don't latch onto the one you want, don't keep trying. Move on to another orb or you'll waste time.

Sometimes the images of old orbs get stuck on the screen, but they're not actually there. If you can't pick one up on the first try, give up and go for another.

You can tell which ones are not really there when the vents blow them away. They'll still be there in the same spot.
