Don't worry, Totoro. Politics isn't always that easy to get. You can always find loopholes and stuff or whatever. Which is why I try not to really inquire about it unless it involves me somehow. And since Internet is my life......

i;m actually going to say yeah sure, they deserve it. REason: When you OPERATE A FILESHARING SITE, you know it won't be used legally. So they should have expected it at some point. Timing with SOP/IPA? Coincidence? Does it matter? I'm just not sure why people are hating the government over a takedown of a site we all knew was gonna be taken down at some point. As for the arrests? Well, if you break the law and they arrest you even if you left the country, you still broke the law. In the end, who suffers from this? I mean people can just download stuff elsewhere. This was coming for a while. While i disgagree with SOPA etc, this is unrelated and honestly not shocking at all.

tl;dr: this site was illegal so why is everyone so mad about it?

but then what bugs me is that if they could take down Megaupload without SOPA/PIPA or ACTA, why is it even needed?
