An After Action Report is basically a Let's Play, but typed or written. More info on the TVTropes article.

I decided to try one of these out to see how it goes. Basically, I'm going to be playing Minecraft. Every time time shifts from day to night, I'll pause the game and write down my important accomplishments, adding a little humor and seriousness depending on the situation.

The story will be told as if from first person. Steve? (The Minecraft dude. Yes, the ? is part of his name) has woken up suddenly in the middle of the minecraft world with nothing but a pen and a journal. Deaths will usually be hand-waved away in some manner.

The Mods I will be using are:

Enchant View (Allows you to see enchantments.)
Inventory Tweaks (Does not give you items. It just makes the Inventory more convenient.)
MovePlus (Double Jumps, Dodging, etc.)
Treecapitator (Makes it to where you can harvest a whole tree by destroying one wood block. Does not work without an axe.)
Rei's Minimap (Adds a minimap and allows you to set waypoints. I would get horribly lost without this.)
Autoswitch (Automatically switches to the best item for whatever job you are doing.)
Floating Ruins (Basically adds dungeons that float high up in the sky.)
Elemental Arrows (Upgrades for archery.)
Armour Stand and Shelf (Let you display your items.)
Crystal Wing (An item which teleports you back to your spawn point.)
In-Game Info (Allows you to see more technical stuff like how many uses a sword has left, light level, etc.)

So, as you can see, nothing really game-breaking here. Most of them are just for convenience.

I'll start when Clouds or an Admin tells me that it's okay to do this and that it's in the right place.

Maybe a few images. It's mostly going to be words though. I went ahead and played the first day and night. I typed up the first few sections in WordPad. Here they are:

My name is Steve?. Or at least, that's what it says on this journal. If you are reading this, then either you're in the same situation as me, or you're the one who put me here. I have no idea what's going on. I just woke up in the middle of nowhere with this journal and a note telling me to chronical my adventures here. So, here we go, I guess...

<Day 0>

I woke up in the entrance to a cavern. Before I even know what's gping on, this four-legged green thing with no arms comes charging at me out of the nearest entrance. I beat it to death with my fist. I suspect that it only wanted a hug, but I wasn't thinking straight. Upon inspecting its corpse, I found that it's veins had gunpowder flowing through them instead of blood. Weird anatomy. I took some for myself and turned around to leave the area, when all of the sudden I hear a strange hissing noise. I turned to my left to see another one of those creatures. It exploded (I survived, obviously). Note to self: Do not accept the green things' hugs. In short, I almost died literally fifteen seconds after waking up. Not a good sign.
After getting out of the cavern entrance, I decided to check out my surroundings. On one side: mountains. On the other: the ocean. There also appeared to be what looked like a floating island above the ocean. I'll check that out later. I noticed some snow-covered trees not too far off and went straight for them.
There were no signs of civilization anywhere. I decided that I was probably going to need shelter for the night, so I managed to grab a few branches from the trees and make a makeshift workbench. I then proceeded to make an axe and cut down a few trees. I noticed some wolves nearby, but they seemed to leave me alone if I left them alone.
After gathering enough wood, I began to search for a suitable place to make a shelter. I decided that although living in the caverns was a bad idea, I should stay in the area I was currently in. I somehow ended up walking though a cavern to cut through a mountain. This ended in me being chased by a zombie. Fun Fact: Zombies burn in the sun. Must be Vampire Zombies or something.
As the sun crept closer to the horizon, I decided to build my house on top of one of the mountains. Sure, maybe it'll be hard to reah, but who cares? It looks awesome. I had just begun construction when the sun set.

Night time was mostly uneventful. I just went around, building my house. Then the giant spider showed up. The thing was about a meeter tall! It didn't notice me... Thankfully. But I didn't get any sleep that night (mostly because I had no bed and there was a giant gaping hole where my roof should be).
I barred the doorless doorway with some pumpkins I found and waited until daytime so that the monsters would burn during the day. Nothing else happened that night.

I'm a Minecraft addict, and this reminds me of when I first started my survival world (I prefer creative, though.)

<Day 1>

I removed the pumpkins from the doorway when the sun rose (never thought I would say that) to go and get some more wood for my house. After taking a bone and an arrow from the charred remains of a skeletal creature and narrowly avoided being hugged by a green thing, I got some more wood, made a door for my house, and finished the roof. It looks awesome.
I mercilessly slaughtered some sheep andtook their wool for bedding. After I had built it, it was basically some wooden planks with some random scraps of wool strewn over it. At this point, I don't care that much.
Upon realizing that I hadn't eaten for 24 hours, I decided to go murder some cows. Yay, murder! I didn't get much of a chance to, though. I fell off one of the cliffs. I grabbed onto a ledge and survived, but my backpack was open, causing all of it'ss contents to spill into the lake below. The remaining hour or so of daylight was spent gathering my items from the water.

<Night 1>

I decided to murder one of the cows anyways. My axe somehow managed to break during the killing. I got some meat and leather from it, then decided to return to my home. It wasn't easy. The monsters had come out of hiding by now. After sneaking around most of them, and almost not being noticed by a Zombie (don't worry... I escaped), I returned to find... A Spider on the roof. I suspected that is was the same one.
So, here's my situation: surrounded by monsters, with one guarding my only hope of safety. I'm weaponless, and the only way I can make a weapon is located in my house. In short: I need a weapon to get a weapon. Pretty much sucks to be me now.
As I crept closer, the Spider sensed my presence and leaped towards me. I attempted to run, but was bitten multiple times. As I reached the doorway, the Spider lept onto my roof. Confused, I entered my house. After walking a few steps, I stopped and listened to the Spider's footsteps. When I stopped moving, so did the Spider. Upon further movements, I realized the footsteps were coming from directly above me. It was tracking my movements... And when I went outside... It would pounce. Yeah. It really sucked to be me.
I decided to mix things up a bit. Instead of an axe, I made a sword (see: a long wooden plank attatched to two slightly smaller ones). It was really more of a club, but I'm not complaining. I'm alive, right? I went outside and knocked the Spider away when it pounced. I then proceeded to bash its brains (do Spiders have brains?) in. The only thing that really looked useful was the largest eye, which looked at least slightly edible. I wasn't looking forward to eating it. I probably won't, unless I'm desperate. After this, I decided the best thing to do would be to sleep on my almost-bed. I slept until morning.

<Day 2>

I went outside to get more wood and figured I would take the fast way down. After falling from such great hights multiple times in rapid succession, I was barely able to move. I managed to get up and harvest some wood, though. On my way to the snowy forest, I was met by a flaming, yet still-living, Zombie. Thanks to my sword, I managed to kill it. I barely survived, though. I then decided that I was probably going to need an axe, so I went back up again. Once I got in, I found a green thing in my house. I politely declined it's request for a hug, but it insisted. I managed to lure it out of my house before it exploded. Despite how it may sound, this is actually one of my best days yet! :D
After returning home and making an axe, I realised that though I had a fair amount of food, I had no way to cook it. Looking out, I saw what looked like coal in the mountainside. I decided to get it, but with what? Just because I can get a few branches doesn't mean I can punch through solid rock (I actually tried this later. It didn't work out so well). Then, an idea hit me: Pickaxe! I made one out of wood, doubting it could break the rocks or the coal. Turns out that it could. Wood tht can break through solid stone, vampire Zombies, Spiders the size of... ridiculously large spiders, and hug-happy, kamikaze trees prove that this place is seriously messed up.

<Night 2>

I exited the small cave I had just made while digging out a coal vein I found, feeling proud of myself... until I noticed that it was night time. I ran back to my house as fast as possible. Almost immediantly I was approached by a green thing. I ran away before he could offer me hugs. Lucky for me, we were near a pond, and the green things are apparently not very good swimmers.
I got home eventually. I then proceeded to make a furnace out of the more cleanly-cut stones that I harvested. I cooked some beef using it and the coal, then made some torches by tying some coal to a stick. I made four torches with one stick and one piece of coal. Even more evidence that this world is seriously messed up. After that, I climbed into bed and fell asleep.

I'll post so you could post again. I like minecraft. I watch videos of it. Sadly I only play the online version. I'm not allowed to use any money to buy the full version.

I might pick up the full version of minecraft sometime but there are games I want first. I want a 3DS version of minecraft. The online is powerful enough to power online multiplayer and the game would look absolutely fantastic in 3D.

And we really should start posting on these, especially if we are doing one ourselves. Do unto others is the best way to get others to do unto you and you can't post a new part until somebody posts.

Yay! I finally decided to do the new days! In return for having to wait so long, here's two full days and nights! :awesomeface:

<Day 3>

I ate my first food in four days today. I was prepared to just go exploring or something, but then my stomach started punching me in the face. It was weird. I ate three cooked steaks. I was totally full, but I was also out of food.
I decided to go kill animals and obtain their meat. I made my way down, being careful not to fall like last time. After I got down, I killed two chickens and a cow. Yay! Meat!
After that, I want back up to my house and cooked the food so I could eat it later. I then decided that I needed a more reliable food source. The animals would die out or move away soon. I made a hoe out of wood, then used it to plant some seeds in the ground. I planted four in total.
I noticed the sun was near setting, and went into my house for safety. It was than that I made a sword and a pick out of the stone that I collected. And then...

<Night 3>

I went outside to make sure the area around my house was secure. It was. I then caught something out of the corner of my eye. Another person! He was don by a beach, aimlessly walking around. Something seemed a bit off about him... But hey. I decided to go down and talk to him.
I was temporarily distracted by a spider and a Zombie, which I killed quickly. When I looked back at the other person, I found that he had simply... Vanished. I was going to go look for him, but It started raining, forcing me inside, where I slept until daybreak.

<Day 4>

When I woke up, I made a makeshift chest out of wood, then put my valuables in it. After that, I went out to rhe nearby river and took some reeds that I later identified as sugarcane from the banks.
After some more exploring, I found a giant cave. With a narrow ravine cutting through the side. I looked down and saw that there were wooden planks, torches, and what appeared to be railway tracks at the bottom. I decided that I would come back to here later.
After even more exploring, I came across a Jungle. YAY! INFINITE WOOD! I didn't go there yet, instead deciding to return home and list off all the interesting things I found.
On my way back, I stopped by the cave I found and noticed something gleaming in a wall. It appeared to be some sort of metal ore (I'm going to call it Iron. Because I can). I took some. I also found three more pumpkins on my way back as well.
hen I got home, I put the Iron Ore in my furnace, then watched as four perfectly shaped ingots came out. This world's laws of physics seem to be on an extended vacation.

Although I probably should have learned my lesson by now and stayed inside, I went out again. I proceeded to do mountaintop parkour by jumping from cliff to cliff. Sometimes it seems as if I'm a video game character being controlled by some dude who refuses to do things sensibly so he can make his friends laugh at his fake stupidity. It's not funny.
I made my way over to the ocean, where I was attacked by a spider. I managed to kill it, but was knocked out by the hugs of a green thing soon after. I woke up in my bed and found a note saying: "I rescued you this time. I might do it the next. It depends on how entertaining you are to me." It wasn't signed by anyone.
I want back to the place I was knocked out and retrieved my pack, which was blown underwater. While underwater, I noticed an opening in the ground. I looked though, and saw a room filled with skeletons, with a cage containing a smaller one in the center. I ran away quickly, then decided to face my fears and attack.
After multiple retreats and realizing the cage was making more, I destroyed the cage. I manged to get some of the skeletons to shoot at each other with their bows. I eventually killed them all and was about to leave whn I noticed something under a pile of sand. It was a chest! I found another one under the same pile of sand as well. After I looted their contents, I went home. to find that I had been under for longer than I thought... It was almost noon in the day!

I, unfortunately, am unable to play this world. I'm at my dad's house, and the save is at my mom's. I'll be able to play it again in a few days. So if someone could post after this so I can post the story later...
